Retainers
After orthodontic treatment, it’s crucial to maintain the new position of the teeth. We offer both fixed and removable retainers to ensure your smile stays straight and well-aligned for years to come. Our orthodontists will customize a retainer plan based on your unique needs to help you maintain your perfect smile.
What type of retainer is suitable for me?
The orthodontist will help you decide which retainer is best for your case, the fixed one or the removable one.
Removable retainer Hawley retainers are very traditional and are made of wire and a hard, plastic-like material that can be personalized with colors or photos to make a fun fashion statement.
Essix retainers or clear retainers, are made to the final treatment result. They may look like clear aligners except their purpose is to retain the teeth instead of moving them. These retainers do not contain any metal wire, fit completely over your teeth like a glove, and they are also removable.
Fixed retainer s a metal wire which is bonded onto the inside surface of the anterior teeth to keep spaces closed and to inhibit any movement of the anterior teeth after treatment. This type of retainer can be used in the upper or lower arch.

How Long Will I Wear Retainers?
Your orthodontist will provide you with the indicated retainers and the “prescription” for retainer wear – that is, when to wear them, and for how long. Follow your prescription to maintain the promising result you will get at the end of your orthodontics treatment.
If you don’t wear your retainers consistently as prescribed, this will cause your teeth to gradually move out of alignment, your retainers won’t fit anymore. If that happens, you need to contact your orthodontist immediately.
